Yamaha Tech 3 rider Sylvain Guintoli has jumped ship to the D'Antin Ducati team for next season in a two-year deal which will see the rookie on a factory-backed MotoGP bike for the first time.
This means there is only one seat left win that team, so Alex Barros and Alex Hofmann will be out to impress this afternoon. However, Toni Elias is favourite to get the second bike.
It also has an effect on Britain's Chaz Davies who is holding out for a ride with the team - but he may settle for a position as test rider for next year.
